Lerato Mathibela will be joining his tennis teammates,
Mpalleng Sempe, 'Manyama Maisa and Kekeletso Moseme for a training camp in a
high performance training centre in
Pretoria, South Africa. Mathibela leaves for Pretoria this afternoon
with tennis coach, Bishop Mosebi, while the trio left yesterday with another
national lawn tennis mentor, 'Nana Senatla. Maisa, Moseme and Sempe are preparing for the African Youth Games to
be held in Algiers, Algeria from July 17-27, while Mathibela commences his preparing for the African
Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Under-20 Youth Games which will
take place in Gaborone, Botswana in December this year. "The Pretoria
training camp will be good for Mathibela ahead of the Region 5 tourney. There
he will be able to play against South African players who will also be training
at the same high performance centre," says Mosebi this morning. "He
is already playing well and of course training and playing in a different venue
can also boost his confidence in preparation for the tournament."
Mathibela will represent Lesotho in lawn tennis competition at the Region 5
Games with Nyathi Motlojoa, Sempe, Moseme and Maisa.
